چکیده

The purpose of the study was to develop and evaluate technique for volumetric tumor segmentation based on diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) in predicting assessing response chemotherapy patients with bladder cancer (BC). Material Methods . We examined 26 morphologically verified transitional cell carcinoma bladder. group characterized by presence one or several tumors a size 17 46 mm. Before planning according M-VAC scheme, post-processing DW-MRI lesions, assessment volume apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) entire mass were performed. According ADC data, shape its relation wall, (C) calculated. Results In cases value below 0.51, high risk treatment failure predicted, at C≥0.74, positive effect predicted. With 0.51≤C<0.74, prognosis uncertain, stabilization more likely. sensitivity specificity method 92.3 % 92.4 %, respectively. Conclusion makes it possible predict sufficiently accuracy. advantages are possibility regardless degree filling bladder, non-contrast MRI, large lesions.

Evaluating of Parotid Gland Tumours According to Diffusion Weighted MRI

The aim of this study is evaluating the contribution of diffusion-weighted MR imaging (DWI) in the final diagnosis of patient that parotid gland tumours has been determined. Fourty patients with 41 parotid masses were included to this study. The mean Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) values were calculated for all of lesions by performing DWI. 28 benign and 13 malignant tumours were detected...

Predicting and monitoring cancer treatment response with diffusion-weighted MRI.

An imaging biomarker that would provide for an early quantitative metric of clinical treatment response in cancer patients would provide for a paradigm shift in cancer care. Currently, nonimage based clinical outcome metrics include morphology, clinical, and laboratory parameters, however, these are obtained relatively late following treatment. Diffusion-weighted MRI (DW-MRI) holds promise for ...

Role of Apparent diffusion coefficient value in Diffusion Weighted imaging of MRI to assessment of radiotherapy efficiency in the patient with glioma tumor during treatment

Introduction: Glioma is the most common primary malignancy of cerebral neoplasms in adults, which in spite of therapeutic significant efforts, has a very poor prognosis. The current standard treatment of these patients generally includes surgery and radiotherapy or concurrent chemoradiotherapy with 6 courses of adjuvant use of temozolomide tabs. During these years, the nervous...

Interobserver Reproducibility of Diffusion-Weighted MRI in Monitoring Tumor Response to Neoadjuvant Therapy in Esophageal Cancer

OBJECTIVE To investigate the reproducibility of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) in assessing tumor response early in the course of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in patients with operable esophageal cancer. METHODS Eleven male patients (mean age 54.8 years) with newly diagnosed esophageal cancer underwent DW-MRI before and 10 days after start of chemoradiotherapy. Reprod...
